Help! My Garage Is Full Of Stuff, What Do I Do?

Most Americans that own homes with garages use that space for storage and park outside of them. It is estimated that only 20-30% of garages are used for vehicles. With the average garage being a double, this is around 450 square feet of space that is occupied by ‘stuff’ that is not used daily. While it is easy and convenient to use the garage, eventually the space can become unsafe. And while some items must be stored in a garage, now is the time to go through the items that are continuously being overlooked and piling up.

First Step

Call Bin There Dump That and we will bring out a dumpster that will be placed in your driveway. The dumpster sits on a board system so the driveway is fully protected. Also, the dumpster has double doors that open to your garage, making it a breeze to walk in heavy items or toss others. Having your dumpster there from Day 1 will help the sorting and the entire project go much quicker.

Step Two

The toughest part of cleaning out a garage is deciding what stays and what goes. It is easy to accumulate items year over year which makes it difficult to go through. Sorting these items is the next step in clearing out your garage space. There are three groups you can use to help sort through the clutter. First, is the item something you will use in the future? Is the item broken? Could the item be used by someone else? With these answers, you can decide if you want to place in the keep group, toss group, or donate group.

Once you have established which items go to which group, you can start to clear out the garage. The roll-off dumpster just outside the garage will be handy in clearing out the stuff you will be throwing away. Once you have cleared out the items you need to toss, collect the donations for giving away.

Final Step

Finally, after disposing of unusable and broken debris in the dumpster and giving away donated items, the goal is to organize your garage for the stuff you are keeping. A clear garage is a safer garage. It is time to install shelving and hooks to store items up off the ground, leaving the area safe for walking and perfect for parking. Before finishing up, do a final walk-through of items to make sure everything is visible and organized. If you pack it away, you will most likely forget about it. Take advantage of the Bin There Dump Dump That dumpster to eliminate future clutter.

Comparing Dumpster Rental Companies

You have decided it’s time to clean out the attic or do a kitchen remodel. You will have debris to dispose of and know the quickest way is to rent a roll-off dumpster, but you have never rented a dumpster before. Where to start?

Finding the right dumpster company is your first step in accomplishing your project. Not all are the same. From location to dumpster size, dumpster companies can vary. First, is the dumpster company local and in your area? A local dumpster company can facilitate your project faster than an out-of-state broker. The local company will know the area and you will be able to discuss your project with them.

The advantages of a local company don’t stop there. A local company is not a 3rd party and will charge only for the dumpster rental service. A 3rd party, that is out-of-state, will charge extra for hiring a local dumpster company to fulfill the order. If you have never ordered a dumpster, your first question is to ask if they are local. When searching for dumpster rental companies online, check to see if their office is a true location. Many times, you will see a dumpster company on the road while driving. These are the companies to remember to call.

Dumpster Design

Just as dumpster companies are different, so are dumpster designs. You want to consider your project and site before ordering a dumpster. Will the dumpster need to be on a driveway? Will the contents be heavier material, such as concrete or shingles? Will there be bulky items, such as furniture?

Roll-off dumpsters come in many sizes AND shapes. Bin There Dump That dumpsters range from small to large and accommodate small concrete removal to home cleanouts. Our bins are shaped at 90 degree angles, utilizing every bit of the dumpster, while other dumpsters taper down, becoming smaller at the bottom. Especially with larger items, a 90 degree angle is best with optimizing space.

Dumpster Services

Finally, what services are offered to make the dumpster rental the quickest and safest for your project? In addition to a company helping you with your project by knowing the best size dumpster, you should be assured it will be there when you need it. Ask what is the availability of their dumpsters and what is the process when picking up. Do they offer same-day or next-day delivery?

Also, ask how they will protect your driveway. Bin There Dump That will provide COMPLETE board protection with every dumpster, at no extra charge, 100% of the time. These boards will make it to where the rollers do not make contact with the concrete and fully protect your investment. Avoid costly damage by hiring a dumpster company who cares about your home and/or business.

All dumpster companies are not the same.

Knowing what to ask or where to turn will help you with your first-time dumpster rental. Call Bin There Dump That and we will be happy to discuss your project needs.

Dumpster Projects For May

May is a busy time. Besides school ending for the year for many, a bunch of moves take place at this time. In fact, 80% of moves happen between April and September, with June and July being peak time. That means along with Spring, major projects arise. A dumpster rental can help facilitate those projects, making them run smoothly and end quickly.

Selling The Home/Moving

May is a popular month for selling homes. Moving is easier when the kids are out of school. This month is used for preparing the home to be placed on the market. With a roll-off dumpster, a quick clearing of unused clutter can be easily accomplished by discarding the items in the bin. The bins have double rear doors that create a walk-in environment that aids in heavy items being placed into the dumpster. From furniture to appliances and e-waste, a dumpster can rid the broken and unusable items and make the home appear at its best for potential buyers. And with our board protection system, the dumpster will not make contact with the driveway, fully protecting the concrete from any scratches. This will keep your home at its top value.

Once the home sells and it’s time to move, a dumpster will be your best friend in discarding boxes and the items that you have decided not to keep. Roll-off dumpsters help with bulky items that cannot fit in the city’s utility cart and the large amounts that cannot be hauled away quickly.

Yard Maintenance/Spring Cleaning

Even if you do not have a move planned in the near future, Spring is the perfect time to declutter and get the yard ready for the summer months. May brings warmer weather but it also brings storms. Now is the time to clean out your garage so vehicles can be parked inside to protect them from costly damage. The old treadmill that no longer works, the old boxes of clothes that never sold in the garage sale can be thrown into the dumpster.

While you have the dumpster for Spring cleaning of the home and garage/attic, take advantage by utilizing it for yard debris and improving your landscaping. Any leaves and old mulch can be cleared out of the yard and gutters during May cleanup. Also, add the grass clippings from that first Spring mow.

Neighborhood Cleanup/Garage Sales

May is also a good time to hold garage sales and neighborhood cleanups. Bins can be rented through the HOA and shared by homeowners. With a neighborhood rental, that one item that keeps getting missed can be added to the neighborhood’s roll-off dumpster. Plus, after a neighborhood-wide garage sale, leftover unsold items can be thrown away, completing the job.

And neighborhood common areas can be quickly cleaned up over a weekend with volunteers and a dumpster. Fallen tree branches, broken park equipment, and trash can be thrown out to be ready for summer use.

Take advantage of the warmer weather and call Bin There Dump That today for your dumpster rental.

A Clean Attic Is A Safe Attic

An attic is a convenient location for storage of unused items. This is a space that however, goes often unnoticed. The attic can be used for storage, but it also contains vital materials and parts that aid in the function of your home. Keeping your attic organized will reduce hazards and increase the efficiency of your home.

Increasing Safety And Efficiency

The convenience of an attic is having a storage area without having to rent out a spot, off site. Many items, such as keepsakes and unused furniture are stored out of the way in the attic, freeing up valuable living space. It is important to maintain your attic space for the transfer and storage of these items. A good rule of thumb is to keep a clear walking path and to make sure items do not block the attic entry. With ease of access, maintaining the safety of your attic will be easier. And it is always best to distribute storage evenly so that your attic floor can withstand the weight.

Reducing Fire Risk

Whenever you want to store items, or you need to access the attic for maintenance, you should take a look around or hire a professional to check the electrical wiring. Animals may access the attic and chew on wires. This hazard can cause a fire. To reduce this danger, a thorough check of your attic should occur every few months. Another risk for fire can be leaks from the roof. Leaks may only go as far as your attic but that rain can also be an electrical hazard.

Maintaining Your Investment

Your attic can store vital equipment/materials for the functioning of your home. This equipment and material should be clear of any junk. When removing the extra items, be sure to check the equipment for operation. Also, check the insulation every year to notice areas that need more coverage for lower energy consumption.

And it is also important to store items not only safely, but smartly. Keepsakes should be transferred from any cardboard boxes and stored away in rubber or plastic bins. Keepsakes will be further protected from the elements in bins rather than cardboard boxes that can get damaged from pests and the elements.

Spring is a great time to clean the attic out and organize it for safety! Give Bin There Dump That a call and we will help you with the perfect size for your job.

What Can I Put In A Dumpster?

A roll-off dumpster is the perfect solution for the throwing out of household items, construction debris, and yard waste.

Household Debris

No matter if the project is to clear out the garage or clear out several rooms, a roll-off dumpster from BinThere Dump That is perfect for quick disposal.

So what items can you throw into a dumpster from your home? Furniture, e-waste such as TVs and computers, boxes, everyday household items such as clothing and wares can be thrown into a dumpster. A dumpster is the quickest removal process. Just remember, no hazardous or flammable items, no liquid paints or stains, and no tires.

Construction and Yard Debris

Yard debris, such as tree branches, bushes, and even lawn furniture cannot fit into our regular trash cans. Bin There Dump That dumpsters are containers designed with 90 degree angles to help with this problem. Our bins can be quickly delivered and set up so you can dispose of the waste easily with the walk-in access.

And when the project is construction, a roll-off dumpster from Bin There Dump That helps the project by keeping the site debris-free. A dumpster is perfect for remodeling kitchens and bathrooms, replacing floors, and even roof jobs. When you have a construction project, give us a call to help you with the perfect sized dumpster for the job.

Heavy Material

One of the most difficult jobs for people is to get rid of heavy materials. Because of the weight, heavy materials cannot be disposed of in normal, weekly trash service. And usually, towns and cities prohibit heavier debris. Heavy materials, such as dirt, rock, concrete, and brick can be easily disposed of in a Bin There Dump That dumpster. Bin There Dump That has specifically sized dumpsters perfect for heavy debris. Bin There Dump That recognized the need for 4 yd and 6 yd bins that can be filled with the heavy material but still easily transported by Bin There Dump That trucks. With the unique size, jobs are quickly completed and there is no worry of the dumpster being too heavy to move.

And besides being the solution for disposal that cannot be removed by weekly trash service, a dumpster eliminates multiple trips to the landfill and the need for transport equipment. Call us with your disposal needs and we will help you with your project. (405) 640-4345

Where Do I Throw Away Large Trash?

Not everything can be disposed of with the weekly trash service. The most difficult is the large trash. Because of the quantity, weight and/or size, large trash cannot be disposed of in the trash cans provided by the city or county. Some local municipalities provide "Big Trash Day" once a quarter. This means you will possibly have to hang onto these bulky items for up to three months before the city will come by to dispose of them. There is an easy solution to this problem...a roll-off dumpster. Renting a dumpster provides the convenience of disposing quickly at your home or business. Some companies, including Bin There Dump That can deliver a dumpster to your location the same day that you order.

Large Trash Items

Because of the size of the trash cans provided by weekly trash service, larger items are unable to fit. From furniture to appliances, there are many large items that need to be disposed of with a roll-off dumpster.

One large household item that is usually disposed of rather than sold, is a mattress. The average American owns 2 mattresses. Mattresses eventually wear out and need replacing. The landfill does accept mattresses and a Bin There Dump That roll-off dumpster is perfectly sized for the job.

Other bulky items fit well in our dumpsters, as well. Just as with mattresses, there are household appliances that wear out and cannot be repaired or sold. These appliances (including refrigerators and freezers) can be easily taken away with a Bin There Dump That dumpster.

Carpet and flooring can also become large, bulky, and difficult to discard. When replacing old flooring, rent a dumpster for quick removal.

Large Quantities of Trash

Big projects can also result in large amounts of debris. Because there is so much debris, it could take weeks for the city to collect. And some debris is not allowed. Most cities do not allow tree branches in the trash cans. Tree branches are difficult to not only fit in the trash cans but also to come out of the cans. Roll-off dumpsters are a perfect solution for tree branch removal, easily loaded in our bins.

Another project that produces a large amount of debris is remodeling. When it’s time to update that bathroom or kitchen, the difficult disposal of toilets, cabinets, and tubs can be easily removed with a dumpster.

And don’t forget to rent a dumpster for decluttering. If the new year is the time for you to clean out closets, the garage, and attic, a Bin There Dumpster can help the project go quickly.

Heavy Loads

A dumpster rental is also perfect for heavy items. Rubber and even metal cans cannot hold heavier items such as brick and concrete. Our 6yd dumpster is the perfect solution to dispose of these heavier materials.

No matter if it is large items, large quantities, or heavy loads, easy removal can be achieved with a dumpster rental. Call us and we will help you with your large trash removal.
