Independence Day is this weekend and there
are many locations in the OKC metro having celebrations. From food to fireworks
and family fun, there are events planned all over the area.
OKLAHOMA
CITY
This year, Red
White and Boom will be
celebrating at the new Scissortail Park on July 3rd. Bring a blanket,
picnic basket and enjoy patriotic music from the talented OKC Philharmonic. The
free 75 minute concert starts at 8:30 pm.
And Bricktown OKC is the place to be for this
year’s fireworks and Oklahoma City Dodgers baseball game. The downtown OKC
entertainment district will host an Independence Day block party with live
music, games, food and more leading up to a fireworks display at nightfall. The
event is on July 4th and begins at 7:00 pm.
EDMOND
Liberty Fest is back this year and as with
Oklahoma City, the events will take place both on July 3rd and 4th. One of the
largest parades in Oklahoma happens annually in Edmond. This year the parade
will be at 9am on Saturday, July 3rd. For information on parking and parade

2021 "Flying the Flag of Freedom". And don’t forget to
stop by Mitch Park for Park Fest from 2:00 to 4:30.
Fun play for the kids and food trucks for all.
On July 4th, the area’s largest fireworks
display will be at Hafer Park off of Bryant and 9th. Parking will be limited to
the baseball field parking. However, there are many other places to park close
by for the short walk to the display. The show starts at 9:30 and the grand
finale is rumored not to disappoint.
NORMAN
The celebration of liberty will be done big
in Norman this year for Norman's 4th Fest. Starting at 5:00 pm on Sunday, July 4th,
families can enjoy food trucks, sand volleyball,
cornhole, baby crawling and toddler walking races, face painting, and family
yard games at Reaves Park. And
the fun doesn’t stop there, live music at 5:00 and 8:00 and spectacular
fireworks at 9:45 pm.
MIDWEST
CITY
Midwest City will host its annual Tribute to Liberty on Sunday, July 4th from 6:00 pm to 10:30 pm.
The patriotic evening will be at Joe B. Barnes Regional Park and will be free
to enjoy. Bring your blankets or chairs and enjoy live music, food trucks and
the big fireworks show.
YUKON
The VERY popular Freedom
Fest in Yukon is where you can enjoy such fun as a car show and
triathlon to sand art and hot dog eating contests. The event is chock full of
everything you need to enjoy the 3rd and 4th. Be sure to check out the website
